BUG? Lectionary showing wrong Sunday

I don't know if this is a Mac issue, or a general issue.

I also don't know if it's a bug, if it's me missing a setting somewhere, or if it's lack of liturgical knowledge on Logos' part, but my lectionary (the Catholic one) only shows the right Sunday one day a week, i e on the Sunday itself. The rest of the time it shows the following Sunday, not the preceding one, like it should. The Christian liturgical week, just like the Jewish one, starts by sundown on Saturday, and that's when the lectionary should switch. This way I'll be told it's Easter Sunday all through Holy Week...

Lectionaries perform this way by design as did the Lectionary Report in LDLS on the assumption that you're using Logos to prepare for the upcoming Sunday (for preaching or personal reflection).

However, you make a good point. Liturgically, Sunday comes at the head of the week. At least in the Latin Rite, this is still reflected in the use of the Sunday collect on ferias in Ordinary Time, even though the daily readings are now taken from a separate cycle.

Unfortunately, my initial guess is that accomodating both behaviors would be rather complex, but I would be interested to hear from others who also find this behavior backwards for how they use the lectionary.

Suggestion: show the right (i e the preceding) Sunday on the Home Page. Those who want the following Sunday for sermon preparation can simply click on the link, which will open the lectionary in a tab, where they can easily click on the little arrow to get to the next Sunday. They will hardly write their sermons from the Home Page anyway! Presumably they have a layout for that purpose.

Besides, sooner or later you'll add a daily lectionary, and then this will have to be right, or it won't work.

The current functionality isn't specific to Sundays. It displays the readings for the current day, if there are any, but if there aren't any, it displays the next set of readings. Thus, a lectionary that has readings for every day works like you would expect.

In Sweden week starts on monday and lectionarys works perfect in my opinion.

In Sweden the secular week starts on Monday. That was, unfortunately, changed when I was a kid, as a part of the movement to dechristianize the country. The Church's week has always started on Saturday evening. Christ rose on the first day, remember?

I don't know what church you go to, but have you ever been to a weekday Mass/service where the following Sunday's text was read? I certainly haven't. It's always one or more texts from the preceding Sunday (usually one for another year).

I go to Swedish Covenant Church. When there is a text reading during the week this text is "always" from sunday to come (next sunday).

Liturgically, Sunday comes at the head of the week.

The RCL daily lectionary refers back to the preceding Sunday for half the week and forward to the coming Sunday for the second half of the week.

For Lent, for example, the Latin Rite traces salvation history in historical order leading up to Palm Sunday - so one need to see the season to recognize the pattern. While I don't expect Logos to go that far, I do think they need to take the daily RCL into account.
