I was just looking in settings to see what was there, and I found something called "Enable Logging" under Advanced.
What is this?
Probably for dummies like me. When there's a problem in the app, they want you to turn on (enable) logging to diagnose the issue. For years on the Mac I refused … too involved. Now a setting!
There's more on what log files are here: https://support.logos.com/hc/en-us/articles/360027869132-How-to-Enable-and-Submit-Log-Files
Personally, I recommend just turning on Logging and keeping it on. That way if you get a crash or other problem, you've already captured a log of the problem (as long as you don't restart the application before making a copy of the log file) rather than having to turn on logging and having to try and recreate the problem.
Great suggestion. I've just done so myself.
Hi @DMB,
Thanks for the explanation. :)
Hi @Jason Stone (Logos) and @Andrew Batishko,
Thank you both for the advice and the link. I appreciate it. Regarding leaving enabled on, I think I have two questions. First, does it use more RAM or whatever if it is running in the background creating potential logs? Second, are the logs anonymous?
On a side note, and please let me know if I need to start another thread or something, but it seems odd that on the forum when I try to tag someone, that the forum doesn't auto-detect the most likely person. As an example, DMB said something, so I tagged her, but someone else who has nothing to do with this thread was the first option. (Also, why does she have two accounts? She has mentioned before that she doesn't know either). Here is a screenshot if it helps.
RE: forum tagging, please see
I think @Andrew Batishko could better speak to logging and performance, like RAM and anonymity.
On your notes about the community, I can merge multiple accounts if you would like me to. The best next step here would be to email community@logos.com with the email to preserve as well as a link to all profiles to be merged, and I can handle that merge to ensure there are no duplicate accounts. CC: @DMB
You had also mentioned prioritizing relevant community members when prompting a mention using the @ sign. I have requested that be refined, and it's a work in progress without a specific date for completion. Thank you!
Hi @Bradley Grainger (Logos),
Ok, thanks for letting me know. :)
No, logs are not anonymous.
Hi @Andrew Batishko,
Ok, thank you for letting me know, I appreciate it.

I am planning to build a library for my son. I already purchased some packages but he doesn’t have access to basic stuff like Greek/Hebrew word look up. How can I purchase this feature. He doesn’t need cloud based features and I am not looking for subscription
