English gloss for Hebrew Bible
When I mouse over a Greek word in the Greek NT, a pop up window shows lemma, morphology and English gloss for that word. That helps.
However, the "English gloss" feature is not in the Hebrew Bible. When I mouse over a Hebrew word, it has all the other information, but without English gloss. I have to do "show information" in order to get to that.

You wouldn't want to defy tradition, would you? In other words, that's the way it's always been. Why it has been this way, I don't know. Perhaps there is an answer somewhere in the forums regarding this, but I don't recall it. Count it a blessing. It can force you to actually look at the lexicon and review the different usages there and check the passages cited. You learn more that way.

I too thought this was the case, however if you use the Anderson Forbes Hebrew Bible (AFAT), then you will find that it does produce glosses as you hover your cursor over a word. Hope this helps!

This seems like a major oversight to me. It ought to be fixed ASAP.

When I've needed a gloss I look to the right pane of my layout which I have set always to display the Info window. So I don't bother with the little info bar at the left bottom of the panel.

That's fine if you have a screen large enough to keep the info window open at all times. I don't.
And since I'm trying to bring back the Hebrew I've spent the last 20 years forgetting, I need the translations a lot. About once every two 'real' words or so... [:)] (not counting articles, prepositions and so on).

Not to negate your request, however the suggested workaround does not require that the information window be in the default pane. I move mine to the right side of my workspace, set it to populate only if I click on a word and then use it only when I need it. That way it takes up no additional space, but is not always visible.

Might I suggest another alternative and that is to open the exegetical guide, set it to only populate if you select a word and then you can actually highlight the one text and it highlights the corresponding English/Hebrew as shown below: I have it it the same pane as the passage guide and the information window. I explained my workspace and workflow in the videos section (windows using parallels) in the Logos support section if you are interested. I hope this helps until they get the English gloss for Hebrew included.

Thanks for your input, and yes I have seen a video or two of yours. They're good.
However, having to click to get the info window to the front is no different to clicking to get the translation directly from CHALOT, which is what I do now*. When you need to look up virtually every other word, that is not practical. And when you have an inflamed finger, like I do, it also hurts, and makes it worse. You need a solution that's just there, so that you can save the clicking for when it's really needed. And then we're back to the space issue.
*Actually, I wrote too fast. There is a difference: CHALOT I can read, the info window (and the passage guide) I cannot. A single word translation in the lower left corner in too small a font isn't too bad, but when it gets longer I get both sore eyes and a headache. And the Hebrew in the passage guide could as well be unvocalized; I have no idea what the vowels are.

I agree with fgh. This is a major oversight. We should be able to have the English gloss in BHS as we do in NA27.
