Note Taking Feature?
Hey, I love this iphone app. Best of all worlds, and it blows away anything out there...
Only thing missing is the ability to take notes (and eventually sync notes with my desktop!!!)
Anyway, 100% need this note taking feature.
But am still loving this app!

Logos has mentioned that this feature (plus highlighting) is coming up in a future release of the app. They are entirely reworking the display engine for the iOS app so that they can include these features.
I agree with you that notetaking is a very important feature for my mobile reading.

What I'm looking for is the ability to select a span of text and copy it to the clipboard (to insert in email or other documents) -- not just a way to add notes to the existing text.
At present, I can "swipe up" on a page and add the page to my favorites to place a bookmark, but if you are someone who cuts-n-pastes snippets from must about everything you read, not being able to do this is quite frustrating. You can read the text, but saving citations for future reference is a problem. Two questions:
1. Is this an existing capability that I've managed to misunderstand about how to do it?
2. If not, is it planned for an upcoming release (I would assume so)?
Just didn't want to find out that it's there and I simply overlooked how to do this most basic of operations. :-)

Clippings would be very handy, too.

I use Evernote on my desktop, my laptop and my iPad. When iOS 4.2 is released (very soon), it would be handy to be able to select text from the Logos iPad app, copy it to the clipboard. Then it could be pasted to Evernote. It is then synced to all your machines.

Agreed Bud. As a work around, have you tried taking screen shots or you can try sharing the text via email and the copy from there.

Being able to copy-n-paste is critical as a first step - to paste into email, Evernote, etc. There are many excellent books that have fairly specialized content or use original languages in such a way that they are just not available in any other digital format. This means, that Logos becomes a defacto "ebook reader" for those of us who want to read these books -- not just use them for reference.
So there are aspects of other ebook readers (e.g., kindle) which would be very helpful. One thing I love about reading a book using kindle (on my iPad) is being able to highlight text when offline and then having the application automatically synchronize my notes whenever I connect next. Amazon them has a section under your kindle account where you can access the list of highlighted texts from each book - which makes it really easy to extract the notes later on for use as citations when writing.
So the features which would make a huge difference for me in how useful Logos is on the iPhone/iPad as an ebook reader are: 1) ability to select text and copy it to the clipboard, 2) ability to select portions of text to 'highlight' and have them automatically synced to a database where I can access them later on, 3) being able to add to favorites when offline (it seems to require a connection to make a new favorite/bookmark). All of these would need to work when offline - this is quite important for those who travel.
I'm really encouraged by what is possible so far and continue to be blown away by the resources I can access while offline. Now if I can save citations/highlights and use bookmarks/favorites efficiently also when offline that would be a big deal!
Thanks for a very helpful application on the iPad.
