Using an iPad, making a highlight is so easy. However, how do I erase a highlight that was unintentional?
Highlight the “Highlight” and a window with options will pop up. Choose the “delete/trash can” icon and that should delete the Highlight.

Long press some (or all) the text in the highlight. In the popup find Notes and Highlights. Press the three dots by Notes and Highlights and select Delete. It may take a couple of seconds, but the entire highlight will disappear.
