Inputting info in Morph Search box

Dear Folk,

I'm trying to input in the Morph search box lemma:h:k BEFORE 1 Word@N to search for instances where k is before a noun. I'm searching for similies.

When I type lemma:h:k it gives the hebrew lemma with appropriate hebrew letter, but when I try to add BEFORE 1 Word, etc. the cursor goes back before the Hebrew letter, and I can't continue typing to complete the search string. How do I input the search string in the search box?

Thanks,

Mike

I think the cursor activity comes from Logos thinking you are typing Hebrew, i.e. right-to-left text. I'd suggest typing the BEFORE part of the string , then positioning to the left and addng the lemma-part last.

That didn't help. I'm wondering if the search string formatting has changed since the Todd Bishop BI131 course video was made. Using, lemma:h:k BEFORE 1 Word @N is supposed to give me all the verses where the Hebrew for "like" is followed by a Noun. This is the usual form of a Hebrew simile. When I try to execute it, it says there's a missing proximity unit. When I type the @ , it changes to morph:h:N. But, it still doesn't execute. I'm probably adding a space, or eliminating a space, or something. What is the correct form to execute the search I'm attempting?

Trying to use the This before that template didn't help either. The template seems only 1 word before another, not 1 word before a type of speech.

    Thanks for any help,

    Mike

WORD must be in caps to be recognized as a proximity unit.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

    Dear MJ,

That helps, but still, if I type lemma:h:k enter it gives me the first of the string, but if I try to continue typing BEFORE… etc.

the cursor goes back to before the Hebrew lemma. How do I add the rest of the string?

Also, your info helps, but where do I find such? The video example I was looking at had the operator as Word, not WORD?

    Thanks,

    Mike

Atually, when I type lemma:h:k, the program offers me the lemmas and roots to choose from, and once I did so, it lets me type the rest without messing with the order (I'm on Windows 11). The morph then gives me the usual forms picker. The final query now looks like this: lemma.h:כְּ BEFORE 1 WORD morph.h:N and run against LHB gets results in 1067 verses.

As I said, I can type this up without issues on my computer. When I type BEFORE 1 WORD morph @N and select Noun from the forms picker (or type BEFORE 1 WORD morph.h:N), I could use another search tab to type lemma.h:k in order to let it choose me the Hebrew lemma [there seems to be a bug that the lemma picker in the Search panel doesn't come up when there is already text in the line, I didn't know that] and the I can copy that part of the string and paste it before the BEFORE. This should work for you to build similar queries.
