I received an email from Logos advising me that I had earned a $21 annual reward. The offer comes with a lot of fine print. For example, a FAQ on the Logos website says, "5% promo code can NOT be used to purchase the following items: purchase of credit, bulk licenses, and is subject to other exemptions." This list of exemptions identifies ten broad categories excluded from the "annual reward" offer. But the last one proposes yet more (and quite vague) category of restrictions: "Other exclusions may apply." I attempted to use the annual reward on ten different resources and received an "Invalid code" message in each instance. Now I work in academe and assume that my academic discount cannot be used with my annual reward (though the long list of restrictions, as far as I can tell, does not say this). But I also receive the same message on resources for which I do not receive an academic discount, for no apparent reason. I spent some time this afternoon adding resources to my cart to try to find anything that would work. Nothing does. So I guess that I will not be able to use this "promotion," on which I have wasted more than an hour today. Hence my question: is Logos' annual reward program a scam?
