Why do so many links go to "Proclaim"?

I often have questions about Logos, and if I do a web search I can find links addressing my question. However, if I click on the link it brings me to this generic "Proclaim" website.

Likewise, within a group I saw something about "Teams" and wanted to learn more, so I clicked "Learn more" and it brought me to Proclaim… again.

Are these links all just dead?

Yes! I noticed the Logos Help bringing up Proclaim pages, too—just this morning.

can you give an example @Kristin ?

    Hi @Graham Criddle,

I am not sure if you saw my other post or not, but the issue is that in a group where we talk about a bunch of different topics, it is a total mess since there is no way to tag or organize the posts. Likewise, the posts don't seem to be searchable. I had originally just done a web search trying to see how to tag in a Faithlife group, or organize posts, or whatever, but I couldn't even find people talking about this (not even on the Logos YT page).

So then I went back to the group and started looking to see if either a subgroup or a "team" would work for this (so maybe each topic is a team?) It didn't seem ideal, but I don't know what else to do. My friends and I are used to being able to place tags in our posts and it is kind of disorienting not being able to.

Anyway, so I saw that I could "Learn more" about teams and subgroups, but if I clicked on the links it just brings me to Proclaim.

    Thanks @Kristin

Anyway, so I saw that I could "Learn more" about teams and subgroups, but if I clicked on the links it just brings me to Proclaim.

So the issue relates to clicking links in a Faithlife.com group (I assumed you meant a link generated by a general Google search or something like that)

I have flagged the issue you are describing.

    Hi @Graham Criddle,

It was actually both. Often if I do a general search on the web, links bring me to Proclaim. I do most of my searching in incognito though, so I tried to replicate my searches and couldn't find the specific links in question again. However, I then additionally saw the issue in the group which provoked my post.

I have flagged the issue you are describing.

Thank you. If I come across those links again I will respond to this thread.

    Hi @Graham Criddle,

So I have a web example. Since there does not seem to be a way to tag topics in groups, or organize posts in any fashion, I was thinking of creating subgroups. However, there is NO description of what to expect with the different types of groups. The only thing I know is we are not a Church since I clicked on it and it wanted an address.

Are a we General? Or a Club? A Small Group? Discussion Topic? So I was wanting to click on them to see an image or some sort of description, but my only option is to create them. Do you know of anywhere where I can see a sample of these types of groups to know what they are?

Anyway, I thus typed it into a web browser and as you can see, even doing that does not produce clarification, but only tells me how to set up a group which is not the question.

Nonetheless, because of this post I clicked on the links to see what would happen and they both go to Proclaim.

A lot of the Faithlife platform was built for a product suite named Faithlife Equip. We exited that 2.5 years ago:

One of the components of Faithlife Equip that we kept was Proclaim. It looks like the Faithlife Support site was shut down and redirected to Proclaim as part of that transition (which is likely why a lot of the links appear to be dead or wrong).

Faithlife Groups is not under active development, so these links are unlikely to be updated.

    Hi @Bradley Grainger (Logos),

Thank you for clarifying this. Given what you wrote, could you please clarify what the different group options mean? Are there different features with the different group options? It appears to be, but I am hoping to be able to find out what the distinction is without needing to create a group in each category in order to test it.

The group types were mostly just "informative": they would help other people understand the purpose of your group, set a different default icon, etc.

The "Presentation Team" group did provide some extra permissions for Proclaim: members of the Presentation Team could edit Proclaim presentations.

I don't think the rest conferred any other special abilities.

    Hi @Bradley Grainger (Logos),

Thank you for clarifying this. So let's just say for the sake of example that my group is about the cost of taking care of pets. So the group is unified with that discussion. However, sometimes people want to only look at posts which regarded cats, and others want to search posts which only discussed goldfish. The idea was to tag "cats" "goldfish" etc.

It appears, however, that that is not possible in groups, so if I want to be able to filter posts I should create a subgroup of "cats" and another subgroup of "goldfish." and then add all the group members to these subgroups. Is this correct?

I also see there is a "Teams" option (which was impossible to search for online since it just brought up Microsoft stuff), but I think that might be for something else. Is that correct?

Yes, you could create subgroups for those focused discussions.

"Teams" was intended for the administration of various Faithlife Equip features, e.g., the "Finance Team" would have access to administer Faithlife Giving, other Teams could view/edit the member directory, etc. I think that's all vestigial now.

Hi @Bradley Grainger (Logos), ok, thank you for letting me know. I just set up two subgroups, and hopefully that will help keep things organized. Thank you again for the explanation.
