Getting a download

Greetings all -

I am using Logos 4. In the "my account" section, under order history, I have a collection that I want to download.

There is a "download" link on that line.

When I click on the "download" link, I'm taken to a product detail page that offers to take more money from me.

As much as I'd like to do that, I'd rather just get the product that I already paid for.

How would one go about that task?

Hi Carl - and welcome to the forums.

Can I just check that you are seeing this behaviour from the "order history" page or from the "pre-pub orders" page? (I ask because I don't see a download option under my order history).

If in the pre-pub orders page then clicking on the link is taking you to more detailed information about the product but there is no need to pay for it again there - it is just not yet available for purchase.

Using L4 there should be no need to manually download purchases you have made - they should be downloaded automatically on starting Logos once they are available (unless you have made some particular changes to your configuration).

Please let us know if I have missed your point - there are many people here more knowledgeable about how these account pages work than I am!

Carl, does the Download link look like this?

If so, then it isn't actually a download link, it's the link the the product page and since in the past when ordering books for Logos you had the choice of CDs or Downloads some of the titles of pages had [Download] to indicate that you should not be expecting a CD in the mail. Clicking this link will only take you to the product page.

To get your resource in Logos 4, restart the program and it should start or prompt you to start downloading your new books. If it doesn't you might need to call/email customer service to make certain the unlock was added to your license file correctly.

If for some reason the product didn't download automatically, then click on the order number in the left column of your purchase history instead of the resource link:

That will take you to a page that looks like this. Notice it explains the normal way of getting your new files is just to restart Logos 4. But down below there's a link to Download Instructions for Previous Versions. Click on it and it will expand this panel:

Click the Unlock & Download button. That will download all the files needed for this product (could be one or multiple, depending on the product).

Then in Logos enter the "scan" command in the command bar, giving the path to the folder where the files were downloaded, which should be the Libronix (Logos 3) resource path, i.e. scan "C:\Program Files (x86)\Libronix DLS\Resources". This is for a 64-bit operating system. If you're running 32-bit Windows, then it would just be scan "C:\Program Files\Libronix DLS\Resources".

Then restart Logos 4 and it should pick up the files.

But this shouldn't be necessary, as normally Logos will automatically download your newly purchased files for you when you restart. You could also try running update resources, which will check your Resources folder to see what files you are missing or need to be updated from the server.
