My TC sets vary depending on application, but for general NT bible study, my set will include one English formal translation (usually the ESV), one English functional translation (usually the NLT), a middle-of-the road translation (usually the NIV), one English text based on the TR or Majority text (usually the KJV or NKJV), the 1550 TR, the NA28, and the THGNT.
I also like to throw in The Message out of interest (and sometimes for entertainment).
I find all standard (non-sectarian) translations helpful and there's a use for each. Any one of them can find their way into a TC set for a given purpose.
I use it regularly to see how other versions than my prefered NASB translates a word or a section of the verse. sometimes this is a quick way to add clarification to my understanding before jumping deeper into word studies.
I use it in a linkset so its always right at the same place I'm reading
The F7 key brings that popup on the fly too.
It would be nice if the horizontal view had a blank space between the versions to make each version more distinctly separate, like the vertical view does. Currently they are all crowded together- hard on my old eyes.
