Hello friends

I have just upgraded from Logos 3 to 4, and in as I made the move to Mac a few weeks ago I have installed Logos 4 for Mac.

I've got the program installed, but can't seem to get my resources transferred/found my Logos 4.

I've searched the forums and not found anything that works; also I tried the instructions at http://wiki.logos.com/Quick_Installation_onto_Multiple_Macs but to no avail.

Here's my status:

1.  Was running Logos 3 on Win7 via Parallels on my Mac.  Found that my resources were located at c:\program files (x86)\libronix dls\resources.

2.  Followed instructions at website above to have Logos 4 for Mac scan for these resources, but nothing happens.  Resources still not found.

I don't have sufficient broadband to simply download all my resources; has someone had this happen and what did you to get your resources from Logos 3 on a PC to Logos 4 on Mac?

Many thanks guys!

Andy

    I think you're going to have to download them. I don't think there's any way that your Mac version of Logos and import the Windows files from v. 3. If you don't have enough bandwidth where you are, I recommend taking your Mac to a coffee shop with free WiFi and downloading them. Do that even if it's a desktop Mac--which will be guaranteed to turn heads :-)

    If that is a real problem then you might try a two stage process.

    Bit of a bore but...

    Install Logos 4 in Windows – install resources (and index) you might even be able to skip the index bit.

    Then read resources from Logos 4 Windows to Logos 4 Mac.

    You already have the licences to do that - have you the patience?

    Quite like windows.

    Scan

    1. Scan {Resource Path} finds unlocked books in a folder or on a disk. You must close Logos and reopen it before this command executes.
    2. Scan Optical Disk finds unlocked books on a media disk. You must close Logos and reopen it before this command executes (this command is Mac only).

    Please post log archive - WIki page http://wiki.logos.com/Mac_Troubleshooting#How_to_Report_Bugs_in_Logos_4_Mac has steps.

    Observation: Logos for Mac 1.2.2 can peacefully coexist with Logos 4 Mac on same computer.

    [I] Can verify Logos 3 resources in Mac OS X by downloading and installing Logos for Mac 1.2.2 engine (20.64 MB) => http://www.logos.com/products/details/4504

    * Launch Logos for Mac 1.2.2

    * Use Tools => LIbrary Management => Synchronize Licenses... (to update license information - does not download any resources)

    * Quit Logos for Mac 1.2.2

    * Copy Logos 3 resource files to /Library/Application Support/Libronix DLS/Resources

    * Launch Logos for Mac 1.2.2

    * Use Go => My Library (verify Logos 3 resources unlocked)

    * Quit Logos 3

    Once library looks good in Logos for Mac 1.2.2, try restarting Logos 4 Mac - hoping for automatic resource discovery and copy.

    Thanks, Smiling, that worked brilliantly.  Downloaded Mac 1.2.2 and did as you suggested, resources transferred promptly.

    Is it OK to uninstall 1.2.2 now that I"ve got the resources transferred to Logos 4?  Do you happen to know if the location of hte resources on my hard drive have moved from library\application support\libronix dls\reources to wherever they are stored in Logos 4 (e.g. can I delete the 1.2.2 folder once uninstalled or do i need to keep it for the resources?

    Many thanks for your help and all the other excellent suggestions.

    OK = Yes: support article http://www.macbiblesoftware.com/support/articles/1002/ has list of all Logos for Mac 1.2.2 files that can be deleted (and Libronix Uninstaller application)

    Logos for Mac 1.2.2 uses system wide location: /Library/Application Support/Libronix DLS/Resources

    Logos 4 Mac uses user specific location - Wiki page http://wiki.logos.com/An_update_is_downloading,_what_is_it#Check_Resources has Logos 4 resource path

    By the way, Logos 4 Media only DVD http://www.logos.com/products/details/5579 should be usable with scan optical disk command
