Put another way, I am looking at how non-Biblical texts are used as authoritative - think rabbinic literature, writing of Ellen G. White, the Book of Mormon, the various confessions of Faith, creeds church documents. These are canonical at least in the sense there is a canon of English literature. This is the only book on the topic I have found
I suspect that I'm not finding information because it is hidden in denominations i.e. Reformed products would have something on the authority of the Westminster Confession, Lutheran products would have something on the authority of the Book of Concord, LDS products would cover the Book of Mormon …etc. Do you know any resources, preferably in Logos, that looks at this topic - the more comprehensively the better?
