Use of Logos for shortcuts

Have new laptop (always has been MacBook Air). Can I place a shortcut in the system. For example, I used to have ";" as a shortcut which would generate an action. I would type ";date" and receive the current date. Cannot replicate on my new machine. What am I missing?

Are you asking about shortcuts in Mac OS or in Logos? What you give as an example seems to apply to Mac OS.

No idea. I don't use a Mac. You probably would want to ask this question on a Mac rather than Logos forum.
