If a Pre-Pub has gone "live" must we wait until we get email notification?

Black's book on NT Greek now shows as "live" on the pre-pub list. From previous experience it seems that I still must wait until I receive an email from Logos giving me a license key and a download link before I can download it. Is that correct?

Yes.....WAIT!!!  I had a pre-pub once go live and I downloaded it and the price charged to my credit card was the new price and not the one I signed up for.  The result sent my CC over the limit, which added another fee.  I contacted Logos and got a letter from them and had them remove the difference from CC.  It took 3 months for my CC to be adjusted for over limit fee.  Logos was great in this regard and I learned a lesson.  I had one other order that went live and I waited a couple of days and it was still live, so I emailed Logos and they sent me the link to get it.  I would wait and/or email Logos.

It sounds as though you downloaded and unlocked the work as a new resource so it is understandable that you would be charged the non-prepub price.  If you had downloaded it from the ftp site, you would not have incurred the expense though you also would not have gained access to it until they sent you the license.  All you would have gained would be to already have the file on your HD when the license arrived.  I know that for a fact since I've done it without a charge.

If you have not received your e-mail from Logos within a couple of days of the resource "going live", give them a call or send them a note.  It could just be that your order was overlooked when Logos sent out the e-mails.  This has happened to me twice now...

HA! Steven you and me are in the same boat! I downloaded the files, and I keep hitting "refresh" on my e-mail account WAITING and WAITING. I keep checking my bank account to see if they charged me. Something about waiting a year for a resource makes it all the sweeter when it gets here- not that I want to wait a year for everything! At the same time, it makes these last few days slow to a crawl (especially with the date pushed back a few times!) Hopefully this morning we'll get our link!!

After downloading the book file try synchronizing your licenses.  It may have already been unlocked on your account and it just takes more time to get the emails out.

Dave,  Looks like that went live and you should have access to it.  Try going to your order history page (https://www.logos.com/user/MyOrders) and clicking "Unlock and Download" next to that order.  If you are on a Mac you will need to download the bookfile and synchronize your licenses.

Email me or call us if you have any troubles.

    Steven-

I always download my pre-pubs/community books after they go live ... I just don't click on the icon and process it as you would if you were purchasing a "live" item directly online. To do so, would of course get your card billed at the post-pub price after the book[s] go live.

I almost always do this with my downloadable pre-pubs and community items once they go live - you can download any file[s] you want to, just as long as you don't click the icon, put it in the shopping card for your account and click on through to actual purchase. Once you restart Logos, the book[s] should show up in your library as locked until accounting manually processes your card, assuming the download is one of your live pre-pubs or community bids.

I've never been billed at "live" price on any pre-pub/community bid after doing it that way. I've only had one lag-time of more than overnight after an item went live as well - it was a month or two back when a bunch of items went live within a few days of each other. Even so, I believe it still only took from like Friday to the following Tuesday and, if my feeble memory serves, those were both community bid books and thus more popular, methinks.

You can download your new resources as soon as they appear on the FTP site, usually quite a few days ahead of the resources going live.  You cannot unlock the resource as long as it is 'LIVE' in your account because as soon as  they process your order it will disappear from your account.  Once that happens I usually just synchronize the licences with Logos.

Longtime Logos user (more than $30,000 in purchases) - now a second class user because I won't pay them more every month or year.
