Why does Logos support Android latest 5 updates but IOS on the latest 2. Is Android the better option to use logos for to get max time before replacing the device.
I cannot speak to the logic that logos uses. But it is common knowledge that Apple supports their hardware far longer than android devices. iOS updates will continue to be given to you free as long as Apple determines that your hardware can still support it.
In 2023 I finally had to replace my first iPhone, a 6s plus, which came out in 2015. I could have kept using it just with the older version of iOS. But that was an eight year run of free iOS updates for someone who had bought the phone new
Cheaper manufacturers of android devices do not support their devices like that. Some of them you won’t get any major version updates at all.
a few years back the more expensive manufacturers of android devices started supporting their hardware longer with android updates. Samsung in particular is giving you guarantees of updates for either so many versions or so much time.
But honestly, Apple has such a superior product that I would still go that direction even if the support with updates was the same. I used android for many years and then I switched to iOS because there was one app that I wanted to run that was not available for android. After a bit of a learning curve, I realized that the apple product and iOS really was superior.
another thing that you might consider is planning on getting a new device every two years.
I buy my phones unlocked and use only prepaid service plans. I have found that the trade-in value on a two or three year old iPhone is substantial enough that it really offsets the cost of a new one. So I in trade in directly to Apple and I do not buy the latest model of iPhone. I buy the prior which is considerably cheaper.
if you had a strategy like this, then staying up-to-date would not be as big of a concern
I would like to refer Logos to a Russian Speaking friend - wondering if it is available is this language?
Question is in the subject. Details: I bought and am reading Richard Bauckham's The Theology of the Book of Revelation. Among other problems, I've found nearly two dozen instances of the word "Jesus" printed in lowercase. That's really distracting! I've meticulously filed typo reports on each occurrence which I found, but,…
Yesterday I took my laptop to the kitchen table to do some work and was not connected. I was surprised to see that Lemma in Passage did not work offline. Is the number of features that require being online increasing and is the plan to keep increasing those?
I am having trouble with using the morph search function. I am trying to locate occurences of καθως near αρα in Pauline texts. I have tried running the search with the NA28 and SBLGNT, in all passages and restricted to Paul. My inputs in the search, all of which have failed to return resutls: lemma.g:καθώς NEAR lemma.g:ἄρα…
