FactBook Greek words Erasmian or Koine or Modern?

Hi everyone,

I know in the Pronunciation tool I can choose whether it reads a Greek word in the Erasmian, Koine or Modern way.

However, in the Factbook page for a Greek word, there is also a speaker button, and when I click it, it can also read the word for me. But I wonder if it is read in the Erasmian or Koine or Modern way? I sometimes find that it is mixed, and as a new beginner of Greek learning, I feel confused.

For example, Ῥοβοάμ (son of Solomon) it is read in the Erasmian way, ro-bo-an, not ro-vo-an.

However, Δαυίδ, it is read da-ui-th, the Koine (or Modern) way, not the Erasmian way of da-ui-d.

I just want to follow one consistent stream.

Hey, I just asked Copilot, and it told me this:

In the Pronunciation Tool, you can explicitly choose which style you want, and that choice will carry over to other parts of the software (like the right‑click “Pronounce” option or speaker icons in Factbook).

However, the Factbook’s built‑in audio for Greek words doesn’t always default to Koine — it uses whichever style you last selected in the Pronunciation Tool. If you haven’t set it, you might hear a mix, because some entries were recorded in different styles.

So, Logos doesn’t “most often” use Koine automatically — it’s user‑controlled, and you can make Koine your consistent default if that’s what you want.
