I have set the system voice in iPadOS (my iPad) to 'David', but the Verbum app continues to use 'Samantha'. Does it not respect the iPadOS choice, or is there something I need to do?
I have tried hard restarts of the iPad, and to restart the app,
Ensure the voice is downloaded and selected here: Settings > Accessibility > Spoken Content > Voices
AND selected here: Settings > Accessibility > VoiceOver > Speech > Default Dialect.
I verified in using 'Speak' in Safari on my iPad, that the voice is properly selected/set up.
I read somewhere that Logos does not honor the user-selected “Spoken Content” voice. Instead, it calls Apple’s AVSpeechSynthesizer directly, and for English it defaults to the built-in compact female voice (“Samantha” in most cases). True? Samantha is clearly what I hear in Bibles that do not have the built in speaker like RSVCE.
Is this a bug that can be fixed? Samantha sounds awful doing the narration, no offense to her lol.
