METADATA BUG: Bible Commentaries Not in Passage Guide

@Joe McCune (Faithlife), the following resources are of type Bible Commentary but do not have a Bible index and thus do not show in the Passage Guide at all.

I doubt that any are type:bible-commentary given your assertion that they have no bible index and after a look at the product pages of three of the titles! So why would you expect them to be in Passage Guide? Publishers often state they are bible commentaries but if they cannot reliably be indexed by Bible references they cannot be Logos Commentaries.

From what I can see in my library and the add-to-library, it seems those actually are type:bible-commentary - but wrongly since this type should only be used when a bible index is present.

This book is a bible-study book with many fill-in questions rather than actual commentary-like exegesis (it looks like the Irving Jensen books many people know - those are type:bible-study and they do have a bible index), however it does go through Matthew in a chapter-by-chaper (the questions sometimes verse-by-verse) manner and thus should have a bible index - the support info tells that it was last updated in 2010! I'd suggest updating, adding an index and re-typing to bible-study.

Berquist, Maurice. Ephesians: A Map to Your Incredible Future. James L. Fleming, 1989; 2005.

While this book seems to be an exposition of Eph, the TOC indicates a topical rather than a verse-by-verse treatment, thus it's probably correct that it doesn't have a bible index and should be reclassified to monograph.

Bellett, J. G. The Minor Prophets. Galaxie Software, 2004.

While the notes to the biblical books are brief, this book actually does exegete biblical text in a continous manner and thus should have a bible index (possibly Galaxie built it long ago and Logos never checked whether the books were correctly 'type'-d and indexed).

Kelly, William. Three Prophetic Gems. Galaxie Software, 2004.

This book seems to consist of three sermons or elaborations. Each refers to a bible text, but doesn't seem to be a verse-by-verse exposition - a bible index wouldn't do much good in such a book (possibly only three milestones) but I can understand why people might want to see results in a passage list.

I own this one and it really is type:bible-commentary, but it shouldn't be. While the authors discuss every book in the NT, this is not a verse-by-verse exegesis, only some sections are actually treated in an exegetical manner.

It seems that this is the only yearly Standard Lesson Commentary volume of type:bible-commentary (add to library at least says so - they show one audio version as type:media-collection, all others are type:monograph). The type is simply an error. I own many SLC volumes, including the NIV version for 2022-2023 - it's type:monograph. The problem with assigning a bible index to them would be that they "jump around" in scripture (one week a section from Hebrews, next week a psalm, then a chapter from Romans etc). The solution would be a Personal Book that follows the scriptural order and has links to the respective sections in the SLCs (the Index of Logos Bible Studes does exactly that, but unfortunately doesn't contain SLCs yet)

Did you notice the "galaxy software"? I wonder if that is related to the lack of a Bible index and if it has any effect on whether or not Logos updates them?

I have numerous posts over the past year requesting Logos to fix Bible Commentaries — ensuring each either shows in the Passage Guide or is changed to something other than type:bible commentary and ensuring all have an appropriate passage guide era and commentary type.
