Anyone have a solid Collection of Maps?
What is your syntax for setting it up?
I don't know of a good syntax. I made mine up manually. I opened the library in a tab and then clicked on the type heading. Then I clicked on Media Collection and dragged what I wanted into the Plus these resources section of my new Map/Atlas collection. Then I clicked on Encyclopedia, still in the column of types in the library and dragged what I wanted from there. This will give you a good start. If someone has built a syntax they could respond, but for me it was easier to just do it manually.
Here is a screen shot of the use of the collection. Hope this helps.
Mine is just "title:(map,atlas,chart)".
"subject:maps" would give the same result.
But then I only have 3 such resources (that I know of)... Can't say how well it would work if I had lots. Obviously it gets far more complicated if you want to bring in monographs, study bibles and so on that just happen to have great maps in them.
Thanks so far guys.
Mine is title:map and I have to exclude on resource manually:
Mark, aren't you missing the Holman Bible Atlas with that?
Seems, however, that I am missing the Logos Bible Software Maps. And I don't mean they're missing in the collection; I mean they're missing in my library. And the base package chart definitely says I should have them. Haven't we been told over and over again that this can't happen? That we needn't check that we've got all that we've payed for; it will be there? Guess I'll have to send an e-mail to CS when they open. The rest of you better check your libraries, to see if this is a common problem.
Here's what I'm using . . .
title:(map, chart, atlas, geography, "bible and its story")
No. I have a separate collection for atlases. This one gathers resources that are Maps and Charts. Atlases have maps but are enough different from a map book that I gather them separately (I only have 3).

You should have that resource. I have three Logos resources. The one many won't have is the Logos Bible Mapset which I got long ago and has little value (seven maps from the Logos Bible Atlas).
Mark (or someone else)
You are saying that you definitely do have this set as a separate resource in your library, right? I'm asking because CS told me they're in Biblical Places, which seems a bit weird, considering that the base package chart has one item called Logos Bible Software Maps, and another item called Biblical Places.

fgh
Could you please post when you find out more information. I also only have one Logos map resource and that is The Logos Deluxe Map Set. Should there be others?
Thanks everyone for your help (and fellowship) on the forums I don't post very much but really appreciate you all.
Peace and joy
Sue
I do as you can see. I don't know how the new Logos 4 packages handled this. I've had these map collections from Logos for years, so they may be more 'legacy' resources than what one gets in the new versions of the Logos 4 Libraries. If you don't have them then the content in Biblical Places has superseded the individual map resources. However, I would also think, as you do, from reading the description on the Library content page that I would have received a separate resource called Logos Bible Software Maps.

Missed this reply while posting. I will investigate Biblical Places.
Thanks
I do as you can see.
Actually, I can't. Not with that exact name.
Sorry, I misunderstood what you were asking. No I don't have a resource called Logos Bible Software Maps either.

It seems that Logos should delete Logos Bible Software Maps from the Comparison Chart as Biblical Places is listed under another heading! Perhaps you could confirm this with CS.
I understood that Biblical Places was the tool, and that Logos Bible Software Maps was the content (or precisely one part of the content of Biblical Places).
I think it is confusing and unnecessary as all the other titles under Maps, Photos, and Media are resources in Library. At the very least its purpose could be clarified.
Jerry, Peace to you! *smile*
Rainy and overcast and cool weather this morning, but my outlook for the day is gladdened by this sharing of yours re. Collection of maps. It will simplify and enable my using L4 in this area of searching! Thank you .........
