Accessing Notes On Mac

When an existing note is selected for reading or editing (clicked on), the first page of the note file that contains the selected note comes up rather than the specific note itself. When the note file is particularly large, it means that all of the notes in that file have to be scrolled through in order to find the specific note selected. This is impractical and extremely time consuming for finding any particular note. On a PC when a specific note is selected, the note file appears at the exact location of the specific note selected. I have talked to a couple of technical support people at Logos and confirmed that this problem is not specific to my own system but performs the same way on their Mac systems. Is this a problem that is recognized and scheduled for near future correction, or is it unknown as to when we might expect a fix to this problem? I would like to leave my PC's behind but am unable to do so until I can access and edit my existing notes on the Mac the same way as on the PC. Any ETA for a fix to this problem known?

I don't know of any ETA, but I do know that they are aware of it. I'm sure they will get around to fixing it, just not sure when. In my opinion, the Logos note taking system is getting better compared to Logos 3 (I now use it for devotional note taking), however I do not use it for Bible study/sermon prep. I find that it is not powerful enough. A lot of guys who use Windows use One Note for Bible study/ sermon prep, and on the Mac side I use Circus Ponies "Notebook" software. Weird name, but very powerful software. I start a notebook for every book of the Bible that I"m studying and when I'm finished I have a tabbed, automatically indexed notebook of that book of Scripture. It's really cool.

In all seriousness though...what makes Circus Ponies stand out from something like Evernote? Is the main difference the fact that you have full access online & offline or are there more magical features I wouldn't even know about? [:D]

I'm currently running the Windows version in Parallels specifically for the additional features that the Windows version has for notes (i.e. opening up to the specific note in the note file... Full/Compact option... "control + F" to search a note file. I'm guessing that since the windows side has all this... the Mac will soon follow. Until then... I'm able to do most of my sermon prep within the windows version for now... and since everything lives in the cloud... it will all be there when 4Mac catches up.

Here's an example of my 1 Peter notebook with Circus Ponies "Notebook". The advantage over anything else I've worked with is the speed with which one can make and manipulate cells of data; the tab system; the automatic indexing of text, search capabilities, etc. It's just much more powerful than anything else (with no offense to Logos, a specialized note system is always going to be more powerful).

Thanks for reminding me that I already own this. I have just started a study of Diaspora, and L4 (Mac or Win) does not have a good system of keeping notes on a subject.
