What would you say is the best tool for reading monograph.
Notes Tool and why?
Clippings and why?
Hi Lukas —
It comes down to personal preference and what you are using the notes or clippings for. I use highlights/notes when I want to see something in context. I highlight using a color of preference for the type of highlight so that they stand out in my notebooks (yellow for monographs, green for Bible, etc.). Then if I make a note, I will also put my own searchable inline tag, though you can use Logos tags for this. My current inline tags are: .insight .concept .claim .? .zettle .quote. The reason I use inline tags is that I export these highlights and notes to Capacities to combine them with Kindle, Snipd and other highlights from Readwise. The inline tag is universal in all services that I use, so I can do global searches in my exported highlights regardless of which platform they came from.
I use clippings when I want to build quotes with ready-made citations that I plan to use in my writing. (papers, talks, posts) I do this when I need clear quotations with page refs. I don't use them so much now that I am not engaged in formal studies. I think of clippings like the old-style note cards we used to use in University. When I used them to write papers, I would export all my clippings to DevonThink, along with other books I had been reading, and then I would start building my papers from these cards. In this use case, clippings were better than highlights for more formal outputs.
Experiment and play with both… I personally would love it if Logos would allow us to sync highlights to Readwise like Kindle does, but for now, it is a manual operation for me.

I just watched a recorded webinar on using Collections. It was a good webinar, and it made me want to start creating and using collections. Unfortunately, I have no idea what I would do with a collection. The webinar demonstrated how a collection could be searched. That is not something I would find useful. What else can…
I have a few hundred personal books and I want to move to a new system which I think means rebuilding the personal book library. I am assuming that I have to add them one at a time. My question is: is there a way to print out a master list of what I have already, with titles, author names, and the files referenced? I could…
I am running low on free spoace on my primary disk drive but I have a second much larger disk drive with plenty of free space on my Windows 10 computer. I noticed that the file C:/User/<me>/AppData/Logos if moved to that second disk drive would triple my free disk space giving me much needed breathing room. Assuming that…
Did a couple of searches this morning. One was about "different rewards in Heaven". I would say that 95% of the results I got backed were locked. I am running Logos 2026 Ultimate and have 31,733 resources. I find it hard to believe it wouldn't have found more results from my library. Am I doing something wrong? Any…
If i click into the Page (X) field, it brings up the Table of Contents. If I click on the search icon, it shows the "Enter a topic, term, or passage" field. There doesn't seem to be a way to select the existing page number and change it to a different one. I thought this used to work in previous versions of the software.…
