I wanted to give you input as a Logos user who, also, embraces AI benefits. This week I was put into a position to preach tomorrow. For some, no big deal, but I, also, work full-time as a consultant. Given my limited time to prepare, I embraced ChatGPT as a tool. I used ChatGPT in areas I needed some help as I exegeted Galatians 3:1-14. Where I found AI helpful was in areas of questions or areas to explore vs areas where variation is less common.
What I wanted to suggest, is Logos engage using open AI, along with a person’s library plus information available on the Internet, to get good answers. You could go with a subscription that included unlimited ChatGPT, and using your own library. What I would want is merging content available on the internet and what I already own; vs trying to get me to buy more resources or upgrade content. As a Reformed user, I want answers that help me, and explore the other perspectives, all in one tool. You have my perspective in my profile: use that to give me a query tool that queries from my perspective but allow me to query outside of it.
I am currently a user using Logos AI for sermon building, but I confess, that ChatGPT is more beneficial than Logos in this AI arena. I love being able to Logos perspectives I have, and then use ChatGPT to explore areas, to come up with content. My point is stop trying to compete with ChatGPT, you will lose; use their functionality and merge it with yours because they cannot compete with that combination.
I suggest these changes, as both a Logos fan and an AI fan, not to be critical of Logos. In Chat GPT there is the ability to follow up on content with more or related content. If Logos would incorporate such abilities I would be in Logos all my time vs flipping between what I bought vs what is free.
What is free should not be a threat to Logos under this model, it allows Logos to be a central “hub” with free and subscribed content.
