cite with different numberings

I would like to quote from psalms such as Psalm 142 and many others, but there are different verse numberings. When I insert a link to Psalm 142:4, for example, I see Psalm 142:5 when I hover over it with the mouse. But Logos also recognizes these different numberings and quotes verse 5 with Psalm 142:4 in parentheses. How can I get Logos to use the other numbering so that I see the text of verse 4 when I insert verse 4?

The superscription in English versions of Psalms have no verse number, but in the Hebrew text, they are numbered as verse 1. This causes a difference in verse numbering between the Hebrew text and English translations. What you are seeing in Psalm 142 is the result of that difference. In the case you cite 142:4 is the translated verse value while the 5 in parentheses reflects the underlying Hebrew verse number. Are you wanting to quote Hebrew or English?

Note: If your translated language is other than English, the same disparity occurs. Just substitute your translated language for English in the above description.

Thanks for your explanation, but that doesn't solve my problem. I want to cite the verse in German LU2017, but it doesn't work in other translations. If I speak with my study bible group I want to say them the right verse and I want to see the text from the right verse with mouse over. - All in Logos not on this forum website.

Personal reminiscence: About 1953 in a rural town of 125 (counting Grandma's goats), in a small Church of Christ church founded by my great-great uncle, I was taught how to find Bible verses. Among the rules was "if it sounds like you have the wrong verse, look a verse or two back or a verse or two forward to find the right verse". Much later I learned this didn't always work in Jeremiah. My point is - do you really want to teach them there is a "right" answer when that doesn't square with reality, or do you want to teach them the reality that different editions show differences in versification?

In a Personal Book use [[Ps 142:5 Luther >> BibleLUTBIB2017:Psalm 142:5]] to get the corresponding verse in other bibles (141:5 in LXX, 142:4 in most English Bibles). In Precise Search > Bible use milestone:Bible.LUTBIB2017:"Psalm 142:5"

thank you very much for your answers. A couple of comments on this:

Technically speaking, this is about a Bible study script—not a personal book. Sorry Dave, I thought I had written that, but I hadn't.

As a speaker in dialogue with the participants, it is very helpful for me to be able to quickly read the text with a mouse-over—and for it to be correct.

I gather from your answers that you are not aware of any way to get around my problem.
