Hi all. I am wanting to get a count for how many Hebrew words there are in each chapter of the Tanakh. Is there a quick and easy way to do this? As an example, you can see the results from the Greek New Testament by Patrick Schreiner. I want to quickly do something similar for the Hebrew Tanakh. Thanks.
Edit: I found out how to do this with the concordance feature. This leaves me with two follow-up questions:
- Is there a way to do this quickly, so that I don't have to type in each chapter separately? Basically, is there a way to type in "Eze 23; 24; 25; 26" or "Eze 23-40" so that it will give me a breakdown for each chapter, instead of grouping them all together?
- Also, is there a way to quickly compare the list generated with another list that sorts by frequency throughout the whole Tanakh? Essentially, I would love to know if 20 of the words are hapaxes or if they all occur 20+ times throughout the Tanakh.
My ultimate goal is to use this for further language learning purposes. I would like an objective way to do figure out how many words can remain unknown such that I will still be at a 98% comprehension rate of the overall words in the chapter. It would be super ideal if I could do that while also quickly figuring out if getting to the 98% mark would mean learning hapaxes or whether it would be a higher frequency (say, words occurring 7x throughout the Tanakh).
Hopefully that helps explain my goals and motivations so that I can figure out if this is possible in a quick and easy way. Thanks for any help you provide.
