A nice feature of the highlighter tool palettes is that you can assign specific palettes to particular notebooks in the desktop versions of the software. However, that kind of syncing doesn’t yet work on mobile devices. I couldn’t tell whether this is a technical glitch or simply a feature that hasn’t been implemented yet.
I did discover that in the mobile version, you can at least choose one notebook for all your highlights to go to. So, I created a “Sort” notebook—this way, when I read and highlight on my mobile devices, all the highlights are collected in one place. Later, when I’m on the desktop version, I can sort them into their proper notebooks. It’s not ideal, but it works for now.
I’ve attached a video showing how I’m doing this. If they eventually enable palette and notebook syncing on mobile devices, I think it’ll become a very powerful study tool.
