Hello,
I'm a new Logos user, switching from E-Sword after 20 years. I'm thrilled with Logos so far, though I've had some stability issues (some reported, some not). Anyway …
I've been converting a lot of my ebooks over to DOCX (using Calibre) so I can import them as Personal Books in Logos. Some of what I'm doing feels silly though and I think there must be a better way. Unfortunately, the documentation for Personal Books leaves a lot to be desired. I'm an IT guy by trade (30+ years) and am no slouch so trial and error is fine, and I've learned a bit doing so, but having to close Logos every time I want to build an existing book after making changes in Word is slowing me down, a lot. Today, Logos wouldn't open after about the 5th time of this build-view-change-restart-build process, and I had to completely reboot.
I've found this page and all of the pages it links to but some of it's a bit of an enigma and I'd rather be studying the Word than fiddling with this tool.
So, here are my pressing questions:
- Is there a way to tell Logos where to break for a page when printing? The printing/export feature is quite nice (minus the bug preventing use of any of the dropdowns on that screen, already reported) but, despite putting [[@Page:n]] in the text where the page breaks occur, Logos still prints the document in one flow.
- Can I auto-populate these fields with data in the docx?
-
- Is there a way to get Logos to recognize the pages without needing to use [[@Page:n]]?
- Can I control the line spacing Logos uses when displaying the Personal Book? Word line spacing seems more natural to me. The Logos line spacing is a bit exaggerated.
- Logos on Left, Word on right
-
Thank you for your time.
