questions about including images in notes and sermons

I need to include an image in Notes and a Sermon. Yet it doesn't seem to work to just copy and paste it. On the notes there is an official "image" button, but when I click it it wants me to upload it in a way that looks more formal than just copying and pasting. This all said I have three questions:

If I do upload an image to a note, does that remain private on my account only? Or can other people see it, see I upload it or anything like that?
Is there a way to upload an image to a Sermon? I don't see the little image icon.
People who have done this before, what is the best way to do this? Do you tend to upload images you need, or do you find it better to rather mention the folder you have on your computer where the images are stored?

I think you are referring to this panel that appears when you click the image button

This takes you to Amber - the site used by Logos for hosting user media, among other things.

If I do upload an image to a note, does that remain private on my account only? Or can other people see it, see I upload it or anything like that?

Images you upload here are not visible to other people so is a valid way of adding an image to a note.

Is there a way to upload an image to a Sermon? I don't see the little image icon.

Yes - just drag and drop an image to the place you want it in your sermon - note that this doesn't result in the image being placed in the body of the sermon but in the slides section. I don't know if that is what you are trying to do

Images you drag and drop in this way will also appear in your Amber media store

Hi @Graham Criddle, thank you for clarifying this, and you are correct that was the panel I had seen. Given what you wrote, it sounds like both notes and media I type or upload is private on my account (unless I actively share it). However, notes I create are privately stored on the Logos server, and any media I would upload is stored on Amber, which is a third party company Logos has a business relationship with. Is this all correct?

As users I don't think we know (I don't) whether servers are hosted directly by Logos or in a cloud-services provider datacentre

I think it's more that Logos is using a third-party provided Digital Asset Manager. I have no idea about the business relationship between the two companies.

Hi @Graham Criddle, I see. Thank you for letting me know. If anyone from Logos is able to chime in, it would be interesting to know, but it isn't super important, I was just curious. What is important is that the notes and sermons are secure and private, and I have been assured of that a few times before I started importing, so I'm not too worried.

I know I have said this before, but the more I use Logos notes, the more I like them. I liked notes immediately, and they still do have some quirks (like the limitations on how you can sort by biblical reference or copying anchors to one note to another), but the more I use them and get my system down, the better it is, and I find the note tags super helpful. I am almost done importing, thankfully. :)

This is a totally useless comment (smiling), but back-when, I refused to use Amber due to their separate privacy doc/policy. But as above, might be in-house now. Not that my Logos screen-copies are top secret!

Hi @DMB, thanks for letting me know you have concerns about Amber and their privacy policy. Hopefully someone from Logos can comment to that.
