Never heard of this Bible program before. I am 65. But while listening to Mike Winger in the study of Hebrews he said something about looking at logos. A passive comment. I googled it and thought it might be useful. A lot of comments and all seem very good on YouTube. I have been trying to use it. I went for the premium sub. Just over a week now. And I find something very concerning. I will ask the AI something and it comes up with lots. Which is exactly what it is supposed to do. However, it always, I mean always finds info that for further information that book or commentary is locked. Always locked. It never comes back with what I have available in the premium. Unless I say look only in books. However sometimes I want info for further research. Seems to me this has been rigged to get you to purchase things. That is the 2nd problem I have. The first was when I read that I can use books I already own, so that I don't have to purchase again. I tried and it doesn't work. I chatted with the help site and well it isn't available at this level, the premium. They immediately wanted to direct me to an associate to assist me in upping the prescription. Wow.

Can you clarify this please?

As you have found, an All search searches all books in the Logos catalog while a Books search only searches books you own.

Some people share your concern that this is about encouraging us to make further purchases - others find it helpful that we can see what other results are out there and even get a quick summary of the article containing those search results to determine if it might be useful to us.

But I don't understand your comment about wanting info for further research. What is it that the Books search (that would only search the books you own) is not providing.

(Yes, there have been a number of suggestions to have a switch in the All search to just search in books we own but so far that isn't available).

Are you referring to the Print Library Catalog feature where we add books we own in print into the Logos environment? If so then, yes, this is only available with a Pro subscription or higher.

But please be aware this doesn't add the text of books we own in print into Logos. It simply tells Logos that we have the books in print and they can then appear in search results which can make it easier to find specific references in print volumes.

Graham gave you a great answer, but I'd add one clarification: the Print Library Catalog will only add books that Logos has in its catalog and for which you have a scannable ISBN. This has meant many of my print books cannot be added. Weigh this in making a decision to upgrade to Pro.

Actually, if you just find the book by title or author through "Add to library" in the library on the desktop app, you can add it from there without having the ISBN

Thanks for the correction. The few of mine I added were done through the Add to Library procedure.

By the time this feature was released most of the books I had in my print library were already in Logos format and I'd been able to purchase them over time. If one were new to Logos and already had a substantial library on their shelves, the Print Library catalog could be very helpful.
