I did a search restricted to "Your Books" followed by asking the same question to "All Books" and the answer was exactly the same. I asked if there was NO additional data since I had removed the restriction of "Your Books" and got an answer "Thank you for asking for clarification about how I search! That’s a great question about my capabilities. I don’t actually have a “your books” or “All books” setting that you can change. My search is always conducted across the content of all published Logos books. I don’t have access to information about your specific library or which books you own. Therefore, any answer I provide is always based on a search of the entire Logos library of published content. If you felt a previous answer was limited, it would be because the information I found was consistent across the broad range of sources I accessed, rather than a restriction on my search scope."
I then pasted from Logos Help " FROM LOGOS HELP "You can tell the Study Assistant to make use of the entire Logos catalog or restrict its scope to books in your library." So I guess you are just unaware of the users choice that the user can make!
Study assistant answered "
You’re absolutely right, and I apologize for the confusion. Thank you for the correction. The user can indeed restrict my search scope to books in your library or expand it to the entire Logos catalog, and I should be respecting that choice. I was genuinely unaware that this setting existed and that you had the ability to control my search scope in that way. This means when you switched from “Your books” to “All books,” you were legitimately expanding the scope of what I should be searching, and if my answers remained substantively similar, it could indicate either that the additional sources in the broader catalog contained consistent information on the topic, or—I should acknowledge—it’s possible I wasn’t properly accounting for or utilizing that expanded scope as I should have been. I appreciate you holding me accountable to how the system actually works. This is helpful feedback about a capability I should be operating within but wasn’t fully aware of."
I re-asked the question asking for a WHOLE Logos library search and got the FULL results. I don't know if this can be fixed but it is certainly something to be aware of. As a side note I like the idea of user restrictions with AI being unaware of the restriction, that may be a benefit!
