If you already have a layout on your computer with both the book and its notebook open, you can replicate this on your iPad.
- Open the book you are reading on your iPad.
- Tap the Tabs icon to reduce the window.
- Tap the + icon to open a new (empty) window.
- In that new window, tap the + icon again and select Notebooks.
- Scroll through the Notes tool and tap the notebook you want to use for that book.
You should now have both your book and the desired notebook open.
Swipe back to your book.
- Tap the More (three-line “pancake”) icon in the lower-right corner.
- Scroll down and tap Settings.
- In the Settings pane, scroll to Notebook for Highlights.
- Select the correct notebook. You should see a checkmark appear next to it.
- Tap anywhere on the book to close the Settings window.
Now you can swipe back to your Notes window. You should see that highlights from this book are going into the correct notebook.
notes:
- You can create a notebook directly on your iPad, but you must still follow the steps above to assign it as the notebook for highlights.
- This process works for only one book–one notebook at a time.
- If you want a highlight or note to appear in a different notebook, you must select that notebook first and then re-highlight the text.
- You will need to repeat this process for each book to ensure highlights and notes are saved to the correct notebook.
I hope this helps.
