What are your favorite journals that you read/consult regularly in Logos? I'm trying to nail down a list of theological journals I want to frequently read.
Thanks!
I'm laity, so I blush counseling a PhD. But, I find these indispensable JETS, Bib Sac and because it's free, interesting and well done Themelios.
Thanks! I love those as well!
By the way, no need to blush at counseling a PhD. Just because I have a PhD, I'm the first to admit I don't know everything and am always willing to learn more from others! If anything, my degree showed me everything I still don't know!
You're kind.
My answer is the same as Beloved. Some of the journals are very narrow in their scope by definition and do not really fall within my studies. I try and go through the new journals table of contents by Themelios is such a welcome addition each drop.
Definitely WTJ - Westminster Theological Journal - always relevant topics
And not really an academic journal, but a terrific publication - Reformed Forum's quarterly magazine
Just read them all. It will not take you long to figure out which ones are no good.
Unfortunately, most journals that are in Logos are not often cited in my field. And to get the "good ones" into Logos would be something most of us could not afford.
I love having JBL in Logos, but there are so few volumes that are actually available in Logos that a historical survey of literature won't go very far into the past. This is odd since there are many volumes in the PD. I wish they would "finish the job" and make the rest available.
The journal, Semeia, was a hot thing years ago (and dear to my heart because of my participation in its publication), but only lasted 30 years before it was transitioned to a book series.
Those are my favs in Logos.
Not really speaking to Nathan's question … I don't do 'theological'. That's like puppies pontificating to fellow puppies about their masters (and their fellow puppies).
But I do love Logos 'academic' journals … even if catch as catch can. It's a big reason I'm more into reading than searching … questions you didn't know you had. And the archaeological journals are almost timeless.
Thanks everyone for the comments! I agree JBL would be good to have updated.
Thank you for asking this question. I would like to start scholarly journal reading and prefer to do it in Logos if I can. If anyone has any others they would recommend, I would love it if you recommended more.

Galaxie's product has a respected assortment of journals. And as I mention Themelios is free with a coupon code and is admired and professional. D.A. Carson is the general editor.

@Beloved Amodeo What are your thoughts on Galaxie's Subscription plan?
If you are a student it is to be considered favorably. If not I prefer to own.
I agree with @Beloved Amodeo.
Since I own all of the Galaxie and Master Journal Bundles, I've found it far cheaper to just top off the new bundles and own them versus the subscription. Plus if finances get tough and I need to pause journal upgrades for a bit, I can always jump back in later and not lose what I already invested.

Is there a single, comprehensive map of biblical lands? I do not want to search by place, I just want a single, google maps style map of the biblical lands that has all the place names there at once. Now, it seems like I have to search for a specific area or city name, but I'd rather just look for it on my own and not have…
BDAG is the gold standard Greek Lexicon, I am aware. But sometimes I am confused about what those definitions/glosses mean in context to Bible verses. For example, BDAG gives no definition and one gloss for the word Kardia in Greek, "heart." With one gloss that cannot possibly capture this Greek meaning in English, as…
When I launch Logos it does not remember where I left off. Has the program changed? Am I missing a setting or something else?
I see that Logos will be releasing this title soon. However the product page does not provide a preview and also states that the Logos book does not include the text of the CSB. I have the CSB in Logos already, that’s not an issue, my question is how has Logos formatted the book, especially given the contextual structure…
Last week I noticed a significant price reduction (70% off) on Mobile Ed TH325. I chatted with support, who told me they would investigate and follow up. I never heard back and so reached out again today. Apparently it was an error on the mobile app. But now all Mobile Ed classes in the Store are showing as unavailable for…
