Hi all. I use word lists for keeping track of known vocabulary, etc. They are great in so many ways. However, with Hebrew I'm running into a problem (this hasn't happened for Greek). At times, I want to make a word list for a book and then exclude from that list words I already know. When I do this, the variations are not caught. I will give a few examples to illustrate.
This is in my known word list:
This is in the new word list, which has my known words excluded:
Here's the same pattern for a few other words:
Two further notes:
- My known word list works great for not marking these words as unknown words when I use it in combination with an interlinear to show which words I do not know. So, the problem is not universal.
- I get why these words are not excluded in a narrow sense: they are different in some regard.
Still, is there a way to solve this issue? I don't want to have to import every word with different cantillation marks, etc. Like I said, the word list works fine for my other purpose, so why not for making the word list how I want?
Any insight is appreciated.
