Transliteration

I am new to the forums, and a beginner in the languages. I have reviewed some of the old posts regarding transliteration, but did not find the answer to my simple question. Can transliteration be enabled in Logos 4 Platinum? I recently upgraded and it seems that all of the languages appear in their original format, which is to me, should I say it, Greek, especially in Hebrew.

Transliteration is available in most interlinear and reverse interlinear resources. In those resources look near the top of the pane for the word "Display" and you can choose which interlinear elements to display.

Also if you want to use the interlinear at the bottom of the window, you can right click on the selections at the left and select transliterated. Logos also provides a web site for transliteration here. Transliterate Greek and Hebrew

In Libronix 3, there was the option to transliterate any original language text into phonetic spelling, in any resource. I can't seem to find that option anymore. Is it still available in Logos 4?

The only way I know to do it in L4 is from an interlinear, where you would choose to display "Manuscript transliterated" (and then choose to not display "Manuscript."

I don't know of a way to globally transliterate all non-roman script text (Greek, Hebrew, Syriac, etc.) to a transliteration.

Your post was very helpful to me but my issue is the opposite of the original poster. I wanted to turn OFF the transliteration.

The thing that was confusing to me was that when I clicked on the down arrow by "Display" - there wasn't an option to turn OFF the transliterations. Your post was helpful because when I right clicked on the headings down the left hand side of the Interlinear window at the bottom of the page, I had the ability to turn the transliteration off.

I still need the transliteration for the Greek, so does turning the transliteration off on one screen affect the product globally? If so, that wouldn't be an issue because now I know how to toggle the transliteration even if it doesn't show up under the "Display" drop down box at the top.

The toggles for the display window are global for that resource. In other words you can have some Bibles with these on and others off.

There is more than one point to be made here:

1) The engine which displays all of the resources is the same regardless of which package you purchase (Though there may be some additions, but I am not sure of this. In L3 there were certain add-ins for such things as original languages).

2) The NT is all Greek to me as well and I'm thankful. If it were Russian I would be in trouble.

3) You would do well to learn the alphabet (or aleph-bet in Hebrew) rather than rely on transliteration. It's not that difficult and sometimes transliteration conventions differ. Personally, I think transliterations are a pain.
