How to stop text cursor going to "search" of Notes when "N" keyboard press?

When I manually click "new note" with the mouse, the text cursor will immediately go to the note and I can start typing. However, if I press "N" on the keyboard, it will open notes and go to the search bar. Is there a reason for this? How can I stop it if it's not useful?

Result 1: Clicking new note sends me to the note and I can start typing

Result 2: Pressing "N" on keyboard send me to "Search function" notes and typing will filter my notes.

I think it is by design that pressing "N" with highlighted text does not automatically go to edit a note, because you can use it to create highlights with your last style, and may not want to write an actual note. But I don't understand how you are getting to the filter box. I don't think the active panel should change at all, and I cannot duplicate what is happening. Can you describe your steps in more detail?
