creating a new common division

I'm trying to create a new common division in search parameters, titling it "Pauline Epistles" and specifying "Rom-Phm" but it does not accept the parameter nor create the option under common divisions. What am I doing incorrectly? Thanks.

Hi Mark
When you say that you are trying to create this under "common divisions" what exactly do you mean? The common divisions - as far as I know - are preset and depend on the translation you are using at the time.
What Bible are you trying to construct this search range against?

Hi, Graham,
Under previous versions of Logos/Libronix, I was able to set up new search parameters in terms of which books to search. I could make a new entry such as "Pauline Epistles" and then have that as a permanent option for future searches. In Logos 4, when searching "Bible," it opens a search string "All Bible Text in New Testament in New American Standard Bible", with a dropdown menu under "new testament." After giving a list of possible ranges, it has two lines which can be filled in by myself, "reference range" and "range title" and a save button. I was assuming that this would allow me to specify a new book search range, but when I click on save, nothing happens. I want this search range available to all future searches in Bible which have the Pauline corpus, regardless of which BIble I am using. Does Logos 4 continue the ability to do this specify and save new parameters for which books to search? What is the purpose for "reference range," "range title," and "save?"
Thank you for your help.

Yes, you can do it for Logos 4 Mac from within the search (as in Libronix). See my screenshot.
As you can see, I have created several passage divisions, including Luke's Writings which includes two separate books. It's a bit counter-intuitive.
- Make sure both text entry boxes are empty before beginning to save.
- Type new Division Title first
- Then type passage.
- Then click Save.
Every blessing

Thank you, Alan. I do not know why this feature was not woking the first few times I tried it, but it certainly worked this time. I didn't do anything differently than before, and when I tried this time I did it reluctantly (Einstein's definition of insanity). But it worked. Thank you.

My guess is that, like me at first you typed in the upper passage box before the before lower Title box and then clicked Save.
It just doesn't seem to work that way. [8-)]
That's why I said that it was counter intuitive. After all in Libronix it was passage then title.
It seems weird to type the entry in the lower box first, then in the upper box, before dropping down again to the Save button.
But at least you got it working! [:D]
