If I never use slides when preaching, would it be better to use "Sermon" or "Notes" function?

I preach with sparse notes in document type "Sermon" in a split screen with the Bible on the top half. Using my tablet. There are verses on it for links and a few points. I never use any "presentation" functions.

Would it be better to simple use "Notes" function instead?

There might not be much to choose between them.

It is easier to insert the full text of a verse into a sermon document than into a note - if that's a consideration
If you want to add metadata - series name, preaching date, topics, verses preached on - that is easier in a sermon document
Sermon Manager keeps a track of when different sermons were preached - if that is of interest to you then it only works for sermon documents, not notes
Notes can display an icon indicating the presence of a sermon and the same is possible with a sermon document

Just turn off the slides! I preach from my screen so no need for slides!

I generally preach the Sunday message by heart, so no need for sermon. My av guys have the manuscript so they can put verses up. Sometimes other verses come to mind and they simply put it us as I share it. Also sometimes when I share an illustration, they will put up a picture that relates to that. It helps to have great AV guys and I thankfully do. I have been doing it this way for 25 years at my current church. Ver rarely I have a video or a picture that contributes to the message, and I just add it to the "shared" Drive folder where my AV team can access the message and any other stuff. That said, I am still VERY grateful for Logos in the preparation of my message.
