I often wonder how this debate, like the Election debate, continues. It seems pretty clear to me. Eternal torment is predicated on the idea of pagan Dualism. The Bible doesn't teach this. Man doesn't have a soul, he "is" a soul. The Bible teaches that "the wages of sin is death." Since Dualism isn't Biblical, the wicked can't live on after death. And, since eternal life is the gift of God to the righteous, not the wicked, the wicked cannot live forever. If the can't live forever they suffer forever.
