Notes on Logos for Mac
Logos for Mac is fantastic! Just a question about notes. When I hover my mouse over the note in a bible verse the pop-up only shows the note name rather than the contents of the note. Is this a yet to be developed feature for the Mac version or is there a setting that I am missing? Thanks

In 4.0 Beta 3, the content of the Note shows in the popup. However, clicking on the note icon opens the Note File, but it does not yet scroll to the referenced note. So, to answer your question, it is a work in progress which has been partially implemented in the Beta.
Progress is being made, but we are not yet at parity with the Windows version. Hang on, I believe Bob P's promise of full feature parity with Windows.

Hi, Greg. I was having the same problem/question, too. But I think I found the difficulty.
There are two places where you can type text in a note file entry. The first is on the same line as the resource indicated, whether "Hosea 12:10" or "Grudem's Systematic Theology." This typing box on the same line may or may not have text already in it, depending on whether you are adding the note to a highlighted text or to a Bible reference. But the important thing is to see that this is not the place to enter the content of your note. The note's content will go in the text box underneath.
In Logos Windows (at least on my PC), when you add a note from a text into a note file, the cursor goes directly into the "Content" window under the verse reference, and the place to type is actually labeled "Content" in grayed-out letters. But I noticed that on Logos Mac (at least on my Mac), the cursor doesn't automatically go anywhere. The two boxes are still there, but you won't see them until you click in one or the other. The Note box is on the same line as the resource, and the Content box is underneath, and it's not labeled, like on the PC version. (Logos Mac guys, please help!) But you have to click in one or the other.
My problem was that I was entering content into the Note box (which is meant to serve as more of a title, I think), rather than in the "Note Content" box. So when I hovered over the note icon, I only saw the overall name of the whole note file in the pop-up, and not the contents I had typed. That's because only the text in the "Note Content" box will pop up back in the original text, when you pass your mouse over the note icon. Once I realized that, I started typing in the "Contents" section, and I've had no more problems. Try it and see if it works for you.

Thanks a lot, Tom! I made my first note yesterday, and did precisely that mistake.
Now I just have to figure out how to make a link work. Obviously writing a Bible reference isn't enough for it to recognize it as a Bible reference. Is it correct that this is still missing on Mac, and that if I just leave them, they'll turn into links automatically sooner or later?

Hi fgh,
Now that Tom has helped me with notes I have been playing with them and discovered that to add a hyerlink you need to highlight the text in your contents that you want to be active text. eg Jn 3:16. Then type Jn 3:16 in the hyperlink box and press return while the text in the contents is still highlighted. This changes the colour of the text that is highlighted in the contents box and turns it into a hyperlink.

I believe that field is for a title.
