Stop messing with Sermon Builder

I’m starting this thread because my comment in the main Logos V.50 thread wasn’t addressed.

Verses numbers in passage blocks are now gone… When I type the reference and select alt+enter to have the text it works as usual, but now without the numbers. This is annoying, especially in my case preparing two sermons every week… Don't know if I am not updated to some recent changes, but, as far as I remember, my Logos version before 50, some days ago was working properly. Tried different Bible versions, tried chaning preferred Bible, no success…

Sorry for venting here, but it’s really annoying to have to adapt to changes in the core functionality of basic tools.

Sermon Builder is the tool I use the most, but in all these years of using Logos, starting with V8, I’ve lost count of how many changes have been made just to the way Sermon Builder “pulls” text from biblical references into the “passage” category (which used to be “quote”).

My impression as a user is that every new developer who comes on board feels the need to tinker with Sermon Builder as some sort of rite of passage.

Logos Sermon Builder is poor and lacks functionality compared to practically any basic text editor on the market. Limited options for colors and sizes in formatting, no “copy formatting” option, and so many other drawbacks…

The only reason I continue to use Sermon Builder is that I’ve spent thousands of dollars on Logos to date and want to centralize everything in a single piece of software.

Please leave Sermon Builder alone or completely overhaul it. Stop trying your luck with minor tweaks to basic and essential functions that confuse accustomed users and cause frustration and delays in sermon preparation.

Hi Thiago, I use Sermon Builder every day and am unaware of any updates or changes. Have you tried clicking the three dots to the right of the text and selecting "Verse Numbers"? See below.

This type of approach wasn't necessary in recent previous versions.

Of course, every user will use different features in different ways, which is perhaps why you haven't noticed any changes in how you use it.

I certainly noticed them, and I've even addressed them here before; they were resolved by the Faithlife team in the past.

Here’s my point... the refinements made to the sermon builder are sometimes not very effective in general use, and sometimes they’re a spark that starts a fire, affecting my entire sermon-building workflow because I end up having to spend more time adapting the changes to my workflow.
