totally out of the blue when I open the program it says "the program has stopped working" I have never had a problem with LOGOS before. Nothing is new on my computer. Totally weird. Can anyone help a newbie like me?

Are the other installed programs OK
For someone to help you we will need diagnostic logs ( http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging ) uploaded to the forum.
This may sound silly, but sometimes a simple reboot of the computer will fix these things. Have you tried it? Hopefully something simple like this will work.
