I know that I'm getting older, and the time between the desire to remember something and the actual point of remembering has increased, but typing something only to later find that it already existed in my notes is quite disheartening.

Specific requests:

• Flexible, not fixed screen area dedicated to file list
• The ability to sort
• File management (ie. folders, etc...)

I use the Favorites folder for File Management and it works quite well for me.  You might want to give that a try.

That is a good work-a-round, quick setup with drag and drop. One does lose the "quick search" feature of the File menu though.
