My decision to switch from PC to Mac was strongly affected by the rollout of the mac engine for libronix. The website calls it a "small crossgrade fee." Though $60 is not small to me, it is small compared to the investment I've made in Logos software. So I jumped on it!
It was very disappointing to find that critical features of the software were not present in the mac version (1.2.2). Most of all, the notes feature. This feature is absolutely central to the way I use the software, and my notes files had been built up over some time. Now it's useless. Without that feature, the 1.2.2 engine is basically a crippled version of what I had on PC. The website did include a list of features supported by the mac engine, and notes was not on the list. But I'm not sure I can be blamed for assuming that no major features would be permanently excluded from the $60 crossgrade. It's clear now that the product is not being supported, as Logos 4 is the current version. That is a VERY short time to discontinue support for a program.
I wasn't lied to or cheated, I'm not saying that. But I do feel like a chump for buying into the marketing... "hooray, now you can use your logos on a Mac!" No, I can't. Not with the $60 crossgrade I bought. Now here's the same hype about Logos 4 Mac. Is this one for real? Is it going to be supported for more than a year? Is the notes feature functional?
