New Logos.com doesn't fit in 1024 pixels

The new Logos.com website is very beautiful, but it doesn't fit in 1024 pixels of width. So the netbook users like me will have to scroll the page horizontally.

I didn't make exact measurements, but I think if the content pane could be centered, and borders reduces by 2-3 pixels on each side, then it would all fit.

P.S: I am viewing in Firefox.

1024 pixels mean 1024 - (width of the vertical scroll bar).

Thanks, Jerry, that's just a workaround. I hope that the designers can reduce the default size of fonts a little bit (which is worse) or change the graphics positioning a little bit (which is better)

By my measurement, it takes 1028 pixels. If they want to shoot for 1024, that should be pretty easy (and would make a lot more sense than 1028).

However, I want the opposite. Please use the full 1920px I have available (And not via Ctrl-+.

Ctrl + - is absolutely unacceptable, because it adjusts the zoom setting in your browser. You should not have to change your browser settings for one web page. And yes, making it fit into 1024 (which, as the Logos designers will know, requires less than 1024 pixels) would certainly be desirable. It can't be fun on the iPhone etc. screens, either - the more it has to fit onto the display horizontally, the less will you be able to make out where you need to zoom in.

Now, if they want to allow extra content to pop up on the side if you're using a larger screen, that would be great. Give people extra value in larger screens, but don't force a size that has a scrollbar in 1024 width. BTW, I do believe that the new design includes some excellent improvements, and is very elegant and functional overall. Kudos.

Hm. That's a per site setting in my Firefox and in Chrome. IOW I can set the zoom for each site and it stays that way for only that site.

Perfect. So all we need to do is to download one in a choice of two browsers and set a site-specific setting, and it'll work great. I think I'd still prefer they adjust the width so it works with the market leader and all others.

BTW, the white part is exactly 1024px. Within that, there are 37px of white margin on each side. That could actually be enough to adjust the design without too much pain. Just looked at the ViewSonic 10 inch tablet that they announced, and its 1024x600. Large monitors aren't all there is. But as I said, if they want to use the extra space beyond 1024 (minus browser chrome) for add-ons for those who have the space, that would give us the best of both worlds, IMO.

For those who say, what's the big deal: here's why the size is annoying: when you have a list of products that is paged, the forward button they provide to get to the next set of, say, 15 results is to the right of the scroll bar. If the design can't be adjusted, at least adjust the position of those controls.
