I was trying to work when my brain wouldn't let me so I started a project. I have been tagging my commentaries according to how they appear on bestcommentaries.com. For instances I tagged Pillar NT commentary on John as BC01, Baker Exegetical as BC02, And WBC on John as BC11. UBS I tagged as BCNR because it has no rank.

After this I made a bunch of collections, one title BC01 with a rule of mytag:BC01, through BC10 and then one title BC 10-19 with a rule of BC1. I also created one for the BCNR tags. So far I have gone through 6 Books of the Bible (Gospels, romans, ruth). I'm looking forward to filling this in! I think it will be quite beneficial. Below is a sampling of the results I get. Now its time to get back to work.

A lot of work, but a great idea. I gave star ratings to some of my commentaries based on the same but restricted it to just the top four or five commentaries for each book. Then I created collections based on the star ratings.

That is so cool!  It makes me wish Logos were done building the infrastructure to enable tag sharing.  I'd just turn on a feed from your computer (assuming you shared it of course).

Hmm Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

The good news is by the the time they do have the capability I should be done :-) In the process of doing this I'm creating some excel files that will make it easier for people to do their own library should anyone be interested.

  • Looks great and a wonderful idea.  Please let me know when the excel files are available I would like to partake of them..
