Hyperlink to specific Note/Clipping

When will L4 permit hyperlinking to a specific Note within a Note file or to a specific clipping within a Clipping file?

Adding hyperlinks within L4 is a wonderful feature. It allows us to collect info on specific topics into one location. But we need more specific links for Notes & Clippings please, as our Notes & Clippings files can be quite large.

I agree,Steve, that would be nice, however its unlikely IMO,
I cant see an easy way around this either.. but would LOVE to be proved
wrong.

The theory is great, but as it stands currently the same note/clipping has a different id # on any secondary/tertiary machine, therefore any links would only work on the original machine and not any secondary/tertiary machine synced via the cloud.

To make it work, they would need to rewrite the sync process (unlikely) or to add another
column into the database (possible) to hold a constant GUID for linking.

I am not gonna hold my breath but agree it would be nice

Interesting analysis.

If that is so, why when clicking on a note in a Bible that the Note file is opened and positioned to the exact note? This is how i would want a hyperlink to act.

Also i would imagine that notes that sync to other computers would work as just mentioned.

Perhaps in your description that i did not understand.

Because as I understand it the constant is this case is the Scripture Reference and/or the file offset (especially if its a note on selected text), both are the constants, those and the note id I speculate are loaded into an local array of some kind, enabling the fast opening when clicked, and will be the same on any system with same books .

I took your request to mean that from 1 note you wanted to link to another clipping/note, maybe in a second file, this is where the new locator constant would be required
