Thumbs up for this set!
Geoff, I can picture a tally sheet at the B&H Publishing headquarters where they count down the times the Holman OT Commentaries are suggested on the Logos forums. Maybe you made them cross off the final tally!!! [:P]
and yes, [Y][G][Y]
Would be great, I use this all the time, I bought it in Accordance specifically because of sale pricing and the fact it was complete in Accordance.

Please Logos give us this set.

I know this is an old thread but I'd like to see the OT added to Logos. I wonder why they'd produce the NT commentaries and not the OT?
It's out with the old, in with the new (da dum tish). [My apologies. I couldn't resist]. [:P]
I know you're joking but the sad thing is that there are many that think just like that. It's a shame they don't see the value in the OT.
BTW, thanks for the message the other day. I wanted to reply but I can't see how you reply to a private message here.
I was joking and I agree. [:)]
If you click on another users name, it will take you to their page. Down at the bottom, there is a place for "comments." This should send an email to that person.

Puzzling question; also would like OT available for Logos use. [Y]
Keep Smiling [:)]
Not sure why this set was never brought into the Logos catalog in the past, but given that Lifeway bought WordSearch a year or two ago, I'm not holding my breath anymore.

Could you explain that?
I think what David is trying to say is that since Lifeway (which owns Holman) is now a competitor to Logos (since it purchased Wordsearch), that it is unlikely to make its way to Logos. I don't know if I necessarily agree, but that is the argument I have heard from others.
While that might seem logical IMO it really doesn't make much business sense. Why would Lifeway want to hinder sales of one of their products? Seems to me that by freezing out Logos they're walking away from a large customer base. It's not like the Holman OT commentary is going to make someone buy their software over or in addition to Logos 4. At least not in enough numbers to makeup for not letting Logos sell it for them.
I'd really like to have that set but if it can't integrate into Logos then I won't get it.
Yes, sorry, I should have been clearer. Alabama24 is correct. It's just my gut feeling, but I have also noticed that WS touts a couple of its offering as "exclusive," such as the Phillips commentary and the new Adrian Rogers collection. Guess we will have to continue to wait and see.
A company that understands this concept well is Amazon, which realized that some people simply aren't going to buy from them, at least on certain occasions. Amazon's response? Get them to buy from Amazon ANYWAY! How? By providing a means for OTHER resellers to list on Amazon, Amazon gets to take a small slice of their competitors' business. A truly brilliant move that shows that the best defense is to co-op the competitor's offense.

Well I've looked into my different options for having use of the Holman OT commentary. I was going to go with the Kindle version because it would work on my ipad and MBA. Kindle has an ipad app as well as an OSX app that ibooks doesn't have. Plus each book is only $8.99 with Amazon. However, when I used the Holman kindle sample I realized that I was going to miss the reference pop-up that displays the verse.
So, what are my options? The only ones that I can see are Accordance and Wordsearch (or Bible Explorer/wordsearch 8). Accordance is too expensive for just Holman since I'm not switching from Logos. Wordsearch ($50) or Bible Explorer (free with a free Holman Bible) is much less especially when you add in the cost of the NT and OT Holman package at only $190 verses $299 at Accordance. I don't care for the interface but I'll be able to use it on my MBA along side of Logos and I'll still have the pop-up references as well as copy and paste abilities. It might also work on my ipad.
I don't like that I've made a 180 on my earlier statement but I don't see a better option. Any opinions on options that I'm not aware of?

As a follow-up I went ahead and bought the Holman commentaries. Wordsearch 9 doesn't work well on the Mac, no pop-up verses when putting the cursor over a verse reference. Bible Explorer works better in my opinion if only because the pop-up verses work. However, neither is any comparison to Logos, not even close. The GUI difference is like a Yugo verses a Mercedes.
The Holman commentaries work fairly well on their iPad app which is the main reason I wanted it. I can now use the Holman on my ipad next to my MBA running Logos. I'm pleased with that although it would have been better to have the Holman OT in Logos. I'm tempted to get the Bible Knowledge Commentary for their ipad app although I'd have to call first to see if it would work on the ipad. At $70 minus a $20 discount it's a tempting price but I'm afraid that my wife would have my head! I bet I've spent close to 1k recently on Logos and Wordsearch.
I'd like to see more OT Commentaries made available in Logos. I'd like to see a version of the NIGTC made for the Old Testament (it could be named the NIHBC [New International Hebrew Bible Commentary] or NIOTC [New International Old Testament Commentary]), but that would mean the Publisher of the NIGTC would have to put it together. I hope Baker Academic does the rest of the Old Testament (not just the Wisdom Literature). The whole of God's Word must be important to us to study.
So Holman Commentary on the Old Testament would be a good addition to Logos in my humble opinion.
Check out the Holman Old Testament Commentary Series Here and Here. It looks like this series is complete.
