Crash when opening new tabs and when clicking on parallel resources in Bibles

Every time I try to open a parallel resource in Bibles and sometimes in commentaries Logos crashes. This is frustrating. The error message I get is as follows. Any help?

Unfortunately the error message you've posted doesn't help too much. You'll need to turn on logging, cause the crash, then upload your logs. See "How to ask for help" below if you need more details.

I learned that on the support page and sent them to Logos support. I am trying to attach them here too. Do not know if it will work. This is my first time using forums and support.

Unfortunately that log isn't terribly helpful either, as it doesn't record that actual details of the crash - though that's not your fault!

So, this suggestion is a bit of a guess. My guess is that the problem is caused by the resource P46 from The Text of the Earliest New Testament Greek Manuscripts.

I suggest you hide this resource. To do so, open problem settings, then drag the resource from your library over to the section marked Hidden Resources. Then close Logos and re-open it.

Wait for the indexing to finish (it will probably only take a few seconds as it's a small resource), then try and make it crash.

If it does crash, post the new log here (make sure logging still on when you restart, obviously).

If it doesn't crash, you can try unhiding the resource again and restarting Logos. That will force it to download and reindex the resource, which might be enough to fix things permanently.

As I said, it's a bit of a guess, so this may not be the problem.

I think you have found my problem. However, when trying to hide this P46 resource, as soon as I go to drag it to hidden resources Logos crashes. So it will not allow me to hide it. Is there another way to move the resource?

Can you:

Close Logos
Look in this folder: C:\Users\ADMIN\AppData\Local\Logos4\Data\jiwlcejf.3lx\ResourceManager\Resources\
Move the file TENTP46.logos4 if you can see it (perhaps put it on your desktop).
Load Logos, and try and open the P46 resource from your library. You should get an error message that it's been removed from your library, with a button to check for updates. If you can, click the button. If the button is greyed out, type update resources in the command bar and press enter. You should see the message "Checking for updates" to the right of the shortcut bar. Checking for updated resources can take up to 30 minutes. After the update has downloaded, restart Logos, and after momentary indexing, hopefully the problem might be solved.

If you haven't done so already, turn on logging permanently. It may be just the one resource which is causing the problems, so let's test that first by going through the steps in my message above. If that doesn't work, please send all your logs, including the indexing log.

P46 was the problem. It is not crashing anymore. However, p46 is now completely gone from my library. I did the update collections, it said it updated and indexed, but when I search for it, it is not there. I am okay with that. I do not often use this resource and have plenty of other resources to compensate.

Here are the log files I gained. There were 2 log files created. One was an indexer file. Both are attached

I'm glad the crashing's stopped. The logs indicate that the missing resource was noticed, re-downloaded and indexed, so it is strange that it doesn't appear in your library. There's a small possibility that it might turn up on the next restart, or maybe after a scheduled metadata update. If it doesn't, try clicking this link to open it:

logosres:tentp46

Once you're happy, you may want to turn permanent logging off. You probably won't notice the difference, but it will very slightly slow down your use of Logos.

P46 might be in the folder C:\Users\ADMIN\AppData\Local\Logos4\Data\jiwlcejf.3lx\ResourceManager\Downloaded\LLS_TENTP46\. Move TENTP46.logos4 to another folder and then delete the \LLS_TENTP46\ folder. There should not be any other folders in \Downloaded!

Ensure logging is enabled, restart L4 and go to the Command box at the top. Type scan <folder containing TENTP46.logos4> and restart L4. Hopefully, this should reinstate P46!
