Collection bloat

For some time now Logos has been concentrating on large collections which demand high $$$ prices. I have come to the conclusion that I will no longer participate in such offerings. If they feel they cannot offer the resources in smaller lots, they can do without my purchases. May I remind the powers that be that the entire world is having financial difficulties so this is not the time to be offering an entire fleet of cars when perhaps only one car is needed?

I may be mistaken but is it not common practice for Logos to eventually offer titles individually after a collection ships? I find many such listings offered in the general catalog that were initially only available in a collection.

That may be true, but it won't be at any prepub discount. Apparently Logos is developing a business model which demands that its customers have nearly unlimited funds to purchase its resources. Remember,Matthew, not everyone is as rich as you are.

I too cannot afford the collections at this time. However, I do wonder if Logos told by the publishers to offer the books only in the collections.

I believe Logos looks at collections as a means to get more books published that normally would not have enough interest on their own to make it through prepub. By putting the better sellers with some that are less popular we end up getting more books published. I do understand the problem though, once collections are broken up they usually end up with high individual prices. I don't know how much this is up to Logos or how much its the publishers that control the "list" price Logos charges. I do know Logos sales reps will work with you on multiple unlock purchases.

Rich? HaHa. But you are right. My home is rich in laughter, love and dirty dishes. While the bank accounts dwindle, these increase!

I can vouch for the philosophy behind the book "Cheaper By The Dozen." If Logos did not offer discounted per/volume pricing via collections, I would have a much smaller library. I passed on several of the 12 Days of Logos specials last year because I save more buying them in the collections they are bundled with.
