See my earlier post above.. Called support they said that IE9 is in the Beta stage and Logos will not deal with IE9 until they get all the bugs worked out.
Just to be clear. The above shows that the web-page interface for the Greek/Hebrew tutorial DVDROMs are not compatible with IE9. As far as I know the Logos4 program does not use any components from IE9, so there shouldn't be a problem there.
There seems to be a problem accessing these forums via IE9 as well.
(However, if you wanted you could access the QuickTime videos directly (via Windows Explorer), if you have QuickTime installed.)
BTW, I notice this header in your screen-shot: "Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4" where does that come from? I thought that those headers were produced by posting to this forum via Outlook Express. How are you getting them via Firefox (just curious).I ask because I use Firefox exclusively and never see that header in my posts.

Richard, I use Firefox as well and have gotten that message after copy/pasting from Word and the forums both. They don't show up until after you have posted. When I see them show up after posting, I go back in and edit the post by erasing them.
Thanks for setting me straight on my assumptions here.
You type up your post in Word and then copy/paste into the forum? I guess I never considered doing that.
I know this is going off-topic, but if that's true, then Word seems to be using underlying IE4 technology to display text. That seems odd. But I don't use Word, so I really don't know.
Sam,
Just to make sure that other users are not concerned by the title of your post, I need to clarify that the Logos 4 software is compatible with IE 9 beta. I am not seeing a problem with having them both on the same Windows 7 system.
Regarding your screenshot--if you click on "Allow blocked content," do the videos work correctly?
Melissa

I addressed these points factually in the other thread: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/26177/193057.aspx#193057
Unfortunately the forum software does appear to be incompatible with IE9. Hopefully they'll fix it very soon.I usually say it the other way around: Devil "Unfortunately Micr0s0ft's software is incompatible with present web browser standards."(IE9 has heightened security, and it blocks most scripts that are run from a file on your computer, as most scripts like this are viruses.)Does IE9 not have exceptions ("trusted sites") for scripts? Do you need any plug-ins to allow running video?
I'm glad Sam got the QuickTime plug-in working. Allowing blocked content via the "exceptions" list is more convenient than clicking the dialogue box every time. And I am not shy about repeating the fact that Microsoft likes to release "not ready for prime time" software. (Remember the kid whose teachers commented "Does not play well with others." on the report card?)
You type up your post in Word and then copy/paste into the forum?
Actually, very seldom. Basically, I'll be typing a reply or a question that is somewhat long. Then I'll have a question such as "Did Richard really say that and if so where?". Since this requires me to go back into the forums and do some searching, I'll copy/paste what I have already written into Word so I can navigate away from the compose page. When I am sure that what I am writing is correct, I'll go back to compose my response and paste it in and pick up where I have left off.
I've only done this two or three times to save myself from typing the same thing all over.
Use notepad instead of Word. Then it won't matter what browser or version of Windows you are running.
Thanks for the tip [:)]
Melissa i have tried every thing and nothing works for me with IE9 not even the forum. i am not a computer wizz so some of you might be able to make it work. Logos told me they will not do anything about IE9 until the bugs are worked and if i have anymore problems i should call macrosoft.

Can you just uninstall IE9?

I need to clarify that the Logos 4 software is compatible with IE 9 beta.
Then you need to tell Logos they are wrong or tell me how to make it work. they spent extra time this morning checking this out and told me to call Macrosoft
Tod thats what i did and now i am back to ie8 and everything is ok.

Are you referring to the videos or to the Logos Bible Software application? These are two different things.

Ah, I see. Makes sense.
I use the TabMix Plus addin for Firefox to do this. Just right-click on the tab, duplicate and I can go back and forth, and find what I need before finishing on the first tab. (Also lets me reload closed tabs, very handy.) But this is getting a bit off-topic, so I'll stop now.
Melissa i can not get either videos nor can i post on the form while i had IE9 installed.. the reason i am making a deal out of this i have always used Internet explorer and cant seem to get used to FireFox. And i dont like quick time because it doesn't expand like the other option. The reason i switched in the first place to IE9 i have another program that upgraded their site and they suggested i upgrade to IE9
IE9 is still a beta product. It was not created by Logos and therefore is not the responsibility of Logos to fix when it is buggy. If you are getting nothing on the screen and Logos is not appearing, then IE9 is apparently functioning as designed! Check out this review:
[:D] In all fairness, you can read what Ed Bott REALLY meant here [:O]
The latest is not always the greatest. Avoid beta versions for greater stability.
For those who are curious, I tried out the latest update to the IE9 beta refresh with the forum, and while there is some improvement, it's still not working with the Logos Forum... now you are able to actually type into the pop up box and write out your message (for me previously the box would appear but I was unable to type anything into the box.) However, all of that is to no avail, since when you click post, it doesn't post, the box seems to refresh and everything you type disappears, and the box remains... oddly, beside the word Message at the top of the box is a little red star (the symbol above the 8 on your keyboard). So looks like IE9 is making some strides but still is there. I do love the ability in IE9 to drag a tab to the bar in Win7 and have it work like an app from then on... I could see having the forum being one of those tabs that are on the start bar...
I just posted this from IE9. The new IE9 has an easier to find "compatibility mode". If you click it (it's the broken bit of paper next to the refresh button), you'll be able to post in the forum. I haven't tried the DVDs yet.
I really enjoy using IE9. Having said that, Mark's comment that clicking "compatibility mode" does help. I was unable to type in this window before, but after clicking the compatibility mode I can. Regarding videos, I've not had any problems. I'm using ie9 version 9.0.7930.16406. I really enjoy very much watching Mark Barnes unofficial training videos on Logos 4 that use Vimeo. I've had no problems at all viewing them.
Having said all of the above, I am having difficulty using the Logos 4 application. I wonder if there is a connection between the application and ie9. I'm really wondering if it's a layout. Does Logos 4 have problems switching between the NT and OT with layouts created for NT? Could this cause freezing?
Could you start a new thread on this? If the layout is complicated, it could cause a temporary freeze (5-30 seconds), but it should not cause a permanent one. We'd need a screenshot of your layout (or at least a very thorough description) to properly help though.
