I'd like to get my Pastor signed up for a free trial but I don't know where...
This looks really good...

I agree would like to give this a whirl- we have those issues every Sunday morning.

I would definitely be interested in trialing this, but similarly, I cannot see a link from the youtube page.
There's probably a new website or page on Logos.com that the video will be embedded in that's not quite ready. I imagine if you follow Logos' blog we won't be able to miss when it goes live [:)]
It's in beta testing right now. No need to say much but it looks like it will be awhile. However the release of a YouTube video makes me wonder. We'll see.
Uh, so this is not for churches that don't have internet access in the church building. Right?
Or will it be able to be run apart from a connection? If not, what happens if the web connection goes down (wind storm, scheduled maintenance on Sunday morning, etc.)?
I like the cloud part, in the way that it opens up and simplifies collaboration. But the dependency issue of needing real-time web access looks too limiting to me.
Or maybe I missed an important detail?

Actually, in some parts of the country (USA), internet service is more reliable than electricity.
Although I can imagine the scenario:
Well the internet is down, and we have lost everything for the music, overhead, lighting and effects. What do you say we get out some Bibles and hymnals?
I'm guessing that the collaboration part of it is networked to the web but the actual file is local. Once everyone has their input and the file is locked....then everything runs locally......I don't know...

One of the demands immediately raised by beta testing. We are told it will run offline, but the ability to change stuff offline hasn't been specifically addressed, so being able to last minute changes without Internet access isn't known. A prepared program is supposed to be able to be run, however. We can't test that right now so don't know what it will be like.

This is the real plus to this approach.
The negative is that this is for churches that really do not already use worship projection software as this will be rather simple in functionality. The 'missing features' list that beta testers discovered right away was quite large. This apparently is by design. So if one has proper expectations this will probably be a useful tool. We are just testing the initial release so many more features will probably be available in the future. It's pretty limited now.
aint that the truth..maybe we need a bit more of this in todays church, less dependant on technology and more dependant on God
Technology is great but no subtitute for the prescence/power of God in our midst.
Boy, I'll be honest, this has me really excited. I've been living in the cloud as much as possible for a while now. The only programs I really need a desktop to run anymore are Logos and church presentation software (consequently the only things holding me back from being fully Linux in my computing). Biblia.com is getting close to the base functionality I need from Logos, and Proclaim would remove the need to presentation software (a resource hog) on the computer.
In terms of being offline, that is the beauty of HTML5. Resources can be stored within your browser for offline use. That being said, I can't remember the last time the internet wasn't working on a Sunday morning. Well, I can, but that was the Sunday the power was out! Hymnals, candles and good old fashioned air support. Plus, the advent of Chrome OS computers will mean more and more computers with built in cellular for those instances when you don't have internet available. How many times have you gone to a retreat where there is no internet and you're using regular presentation software because you have a single license for your worship software? Now you could hook up the mifi and use the same software you use the rest of the year!!
Very excited!!!
I should mention that I would still need a "base station" computer. Something that has the full Logos running on it, graphics software, a hard line internet connection and large screens for media creation and editing, but increasingly my notebook would no longer need to be all things, I would just need a desktop machine.
You can sign up here. http://proclaimonline.com/ I'll have the Youtube video adjusted with a banner or notation. Thanks.
Matthew...thanks for the link! Woo hoo...sent it to all my pastor friends....they're gonna love it...
What, no songs on the wall? No Scripture projection to accommodate lazy Baptists? How can we possibly worship?
Just one question: How much? (I did notice the phrase "monthly subscription.) This is nice but the price must be in line with value--at least for me and my church!
